Thankfully all of the hail that we had this summer in Minooka did little damage to the poles. A little epoxy putty and all is well. Murphy's Law- if you build a ceramic outdoor totem pole you are inviting a freak hailstorm to occur!

A big thank you to Mrs. Sowa, Mrs. Pekol, and Brianne P. and her family for helping out with the installation Saturday. Luckily there was a break in the rain around noon and the poles for the nature garden were assembled in fairly dry conditions! The MIS PRIDE pole still needs to be installed, that will take place most likely at the end of next week. Thanks again everyone, and good job to all of the art club students who made nature-themed totem pole pieces. Some students ended up working on several pieces! The light-colored bits you may see on the ground are Great Stuff foam bits. The foam expanded more than was anticipated and it seemed like it kept seeping out from small openings in the totem. Some scraping will have to be done this week. More photos will be posted when they are 100% done. Below are photos of some art club students with the pieces that they made.
