After taking photos of 6th graders, we learned how to use a grid to enlarge that photo realistically. Then students divided the artwork in half. They draw half realistically with shading pencils, and the other half they made abstract after learning about how artists have used abstraction for the last hundred years.

Students used the Slab method of hand building to create a container that looks like something real.
After firing the clay in the kiln, students are adding color using ceramic glazes. Stay tuned to see the results! 6th grade table groups chose objects for a Still Life- an arrangement of objects to draw from observation. The students added shading and shadows to their drawings before finishing.
