6th grade learned and practiced the 3 methods of hand building using clay. They then chose which method - or combination of methods- that they wanted to construct their clay containers with.

Remember the still life drawings from September? The students enlarged a portion of them using a grid. Here are some of the finished ones as they hang in the hallways next to the original still life. The abstracted enlargements were painted with Analogous colors.
one point perspective is a system of drawing that artists use to show depth in artwork. Students are using perspective to create a lair for the superhero or villain that they just created. It's math and art together! :)
After brainstorming ideas for superheroes and villains, and practicing the drawing of a human in correct proportion, we began making our own character as a relief sculpture. Today students were using plaster to make their drawings 3d.
