This week 6th grade has been reviewing how to draw 3D shapes and has been learning how to shade them using a method called hatching and cross-hatching.
They will be finished with watercolor and markers. Students reviewed the 3 methods of hand construction with clay: slabs, coils, and pinch pots. This quarter we are focusing on slab construction. Students sketched ideas for their containers, and they have a choice on shape and if they want a lid or a handle. They are nearly finished. Once they are fired they will apply ceramic glaze and fire them a second time. Check back for more updates!
Our first quarter begin with a collaborative art activity. We learned about how Abstract art can be made with Balance,Pattern, and Emphasis in mind.
